Introduction
In this project, I was tasked with redesigning the user interface of a logistics SaaS web application that struggled with poor user experience. The original design overwhelmed users with excessive information, visual clutter, and outdated elements, making it difficult for them to efficiently navigate and make decisions. My goal was to create a more intuitive, user-friendly experience by addressing the core usability issues while maintaining the platform's functionality.
Proccess
Through a detailed analysis of the old design, I identified six major problems, ranging from information overload to a lack of interaction between the map and list views. I tackled these challenges by introducing a clear information hierarchy, adding white space, and simplifying the color palette. Features like "More Details" buttons and dropdown filters helped declutter the interface while making it easier to navigate. Bi-directional interaction between the map and list allowed users to quickly locate and analyze data, while improved typography enhanced readability and reduced visual fatigue.
Conclusion
The redesign resulted in a cleaner, more intuitive interface that significantly improved user efficiency. Key details became easier to access, reducing the time users spent searching for critical information. Visual fatigue was minimized through balanced layouts and a simplified design system. Ultimately, this project not only improved the usability of the platform but also empowered users to work faster and with greater confidence.
